About the Liphook Millennium Centre

Liphook Millennium Centre was officially opened on the 1st January 2000 by Daniel Brown and Rebecca Restall (aged just 4 years old, the youngest pupils at Liphook Infant School – I wonder where they are now!), the Architect John Beam, and the Chairman of the Trustees Frank Conroy. The Centre provides an accessible local venue for community events, pantomime, markets, cinema, art exhibitions, and a wide variety of clubs and activities.

The centre was refurbished in 2020 and offers a variety of rooms for hire including two smaller rooms that can be used for meetings or changing rooms for theatre productions,  The Canada room can accommodate up to 50 people.  All the rooms have new office-style furniture, making them extremely adaptable for a wide range of functions.   If you would like a tour of the facilities available the reception office is open from 10 am – 2 pm Monday to Friday.

The Centre was built on a disused O.S.U. site which was developed by the Royal Canadian Engineers  in 1944. The site was occupied by the Royal Army Ordnance Corp from 1968 until approx 1997 when it was sold to Sainsbury’s.  The Millennium Centre was built for the community in 1998, opening its doors for the first time in March 1999 for the Annual Community Meeting.
