Thank you to everyone that responded so far, this was our first email response, brilliant, thank you.  

As a Yorkshire lass, I do love a natter, as you know. So, As for keeping in touch, I made myself a long list of contacts who I usually see on a regular basis, and have been keeping in touch by Facebook, or FaceTime. The modern technology is great, your phone bills don’t go through the roof!

We’ve done a family video conferencing which is very special, it’s almost impossible to get my 4 boys together as a general rule.

My grandchildren FaceTime me before school and before bedtime , it’s great that they know how to do that themselves. Id like to think they’re taking extra care in their school work because ‘dad says we have to show it to grandma’.

I think they think I’m is prison when they hear the phrase ‘lock down’

My grandson was being a bit of a larrikin last night, and got quite a shock when I pulled him up for almost knocking dads laptop off the table! How did you know that happened, he said with such a look of surprise on his face!

So, to sum up , My biggest tip for anyone at home alone , is to learn as much as you can about social media. You can sing with Gareth Malone, exercise with Joe, who I have to say is a bit of a dish, learn to paint, sew, craft on You Tube and interact with your family and friends.

Also give yourself a very loose timetable for all these thing, It’s surprising how much you appreciate it when you get to the time you’ve allocated for a coffee break!

Oh and for those of us who need spiritual support also, the Portsmouth Catholic Cathedral are broadcasting live Masses, access on their website. I’m sure other denominations are doing the same. Can be very comforting.
