What a thrill to be invited to stage the first literary crime event at the Liphook Millennium Centre. I’m a critic and I interview authors for my podcast Crime Time FM but nothing compares to a live chat with audience participation. Writers are always looking for opportunities to meet readers and the Millennium Centre is an ideal venue for a chat followed by a question and answer session for local people.

When I suggested to Slough based crime writer ABIR MUKHERJEE that he be the first guest he jumped at the chance. Who knows, if this is successful it could be the beginning of something for the community. A programme of literary evenings in the future..

Abir is an award-winning writer, including two prestigious Crime Writers’ Association Historical Daggers for A Rising Man in 2017 and Death in the East in 2020. His Wyndham and Banerjee series, set in Raj era India, have struck a chord with critics and readers alike, he’s become one of Britain’s most popular writers. The new novel, Hunted, is a contemporary story that opens with a terrorist attack in the US. Sajid Khan, father of Aliyah, one of the suspects, works with a female FBI agent to prevent more atrocities. It’s an exciting and zeitgeisty thriller that grips like a vice.
