Early March is traditionally when Liphook u3a opens the doors of the Millennium Centre to show the breadth of what the u3a has to offer locally. There are over 500 members who belong to the Liphook branch of this national institution and to keep them active, informed and entertained there are over 40 groups, many of which displayed their wares on this occasion. There was also a very busy tea room where attendees were offered warm drinks and cake from the large variety on offer. The groups are run by volunteers and are happy to add new members to their list. The groups offer a large range of options from the educational such as the History Group, the active such as the walking groups, golf and the newly added Activities and those catering for general interests like the Theatre, Film Appreciation and Trips Out groups. It was a busy and buzzing afternoon and new people have joined the u3a as well as many of the groups attracting new members. Membership costs £14 a year and some of the groups make a charge to cover room hire, refreshments and materials where appropriate.
