“Boot polish, coffee and gin aren’t things you’d usually associate with paintings but – to be honest- I have never been one for following convention.”

I grew up in Zimbabwe and enjoyed painting African Wildlife for many years before I immigrated, with my family, to the UK in 2001. Back in Zimbabwe, we had bantam chickens in our garden. And I loved their individual characters, their eyes, the way they cocked their heads. Our cocker spaniel thought it was her job to round them up and keep them safe. Perhaps this is where my love of painting cockerels came from.

I am a member of the Crowthorne and Sandhurst Art society. I have exhibited my work widely in the UK: The Patching exhibitions at Nottingham; in Wales, as an invited artist, courtesy of the Sidney Nolan Trust; and at the SWA (Society of Woman Artists) in 2004 and 2012.
