Food & Film Night (Espionage Drama)
Rated 12
Doors Open 6.45pm, Film starts 7.30pm
Starring the brilliant Judi Dench, with Sophie Cookson starring as Young Joan, directed by Trevor Nunn,
with music from George Fenton
A film that gives you time to ponder, thoughtful, thought provoking and a really good watch. A good portrayal of the dilemma Joan has in choosing between the wishes and demands of her “true love” to give him classified information about the British nuclear program to transmit to the Soviets and her desire not to betray her country. Red Joan is about a woman’s perspective; how people perhaps thought in those days; and perhaps an insight of what it is to live in post war Britain.
